The Seed Alliance

A collaboration to promote organic vegetable seed production in Sweden.

The goal of this initiative is to develop domestic production of organic vegetable seeds through collaboration and knowledge-sharing.

Engaged seed growers, researchers, seed merchants, and other stakeholders are working together in a network to enable the effective spread of information and experience.

A key aim is also to develop practical knowledge for seed production across different species. Together, we seek to create the conditions for regional seed markets to be established and developed.

This is truly vital work — reintroducing an old-new industry in Sweden. For roughly 70 years, we have lacked domestic seed production, a situation that has created clear vulnerabilities, such as fragility, low local adaptability, and a sense of disempowerment.
